SqueezeBox Boogaloo hit the Sydney scene in 1999 with its infectious zydeco rhythms.
Back in 1990, Geoff Tofler, then living in Boston, was blown away by the live sounds of Geno Delafose and Wayne Toups. Geoff contacted Randy Falcon in Louisiana to lay hands on two button accordions (Bflat and D), to add to a Hohner piano accordion.
Many trips to Louisiana and Escoheag, RI, and nights listening and dancing to zydeco at Bostons Johnny D’s and Harpers Ferry, led to Craw Not Craw. A favourite moment for Craw was opening for Buckwheat Zydeco at the Harpers Ferry Blues Festival in Boston.
When Geoff returned to Australia in 1998, establishing a zydeco band was a priority. With the talent and passion of Russell, Eric, Neil and Alan, SqueezeBox Boogaloo is the result, helped on the way by Madame Rae, Robert, Kerry, Djemal and Ruth, the #1 dancer and supporter.
The main news has been the completion of the CD – “Take you everywhere”. The process took quite a lot of time – but it has been worth it. We are delighted with the final result – and hope you are too.
We are now in the early phase of trying to get the CD out in the marketplace. Our ultimate aim is a tour of the U.S. ending up atthe source of it all – South West Louisiana. Stay tuned.
So put on your dancing shoes and let SqueezeBox Boogaloo TAKE YOU EVERYWHERE

The essence of the enigmatic bass player, Russell hails from Melbourne. Russell has a long blues band experience – with an extensive vinyl collection to boot. Besides blues, Russell has always had an interest in world music beats.
